Ottimo ^__^ Il problema è che in questi giorni (aka questa e la prossima settimana circa) sarò moooolto away (causa: compiti delle vacanze da finire in super-extremis) pertanto mi sa che ci vedremo sentiremo poco :-D Tuttavia, volevo informarti di qualche "buon proposito" che mi è venuto in mente ^__^ Allora, sto imparando PHP e ho quasi (questione di 7-8 pagine) finito il secondo manuale al riguardo :-) pertanto mi sarebbe piaciuto installare (aka, scrivere ex-novo ^__^) qualche tool sul server, il problema sarebbe quale... difatti mi servirebbe un database ma al riguardo so poco o nulla, non è che mi spieghi un po':

1. Dove picchio è questo db (su questo server o su filnik.studente.eu)
2. Come faccio a crearne di nuovi :-) (per utilizzarli c'è scritto nel manuale ;))

Magari se mi spieghi anche come recuperare i dati dai db di toolserver non sarebbe male :-) Questo, ovviamente, solo se hai tempo e voglia ;) (accetto anche RTFM + link ehehe ^__^) Ciao, --Filnik 03:59, 8 September 2007 (MDT)

Bugs

Excuse me for writing here. I cannot even put a message on the talk pages, as I get an error message. This wiki has lots of bugs (like the Main Page always appearing as a redirected page, or the inability of us to add a message to the Talk:Main Page) and I didn't know who can fix them, and I couldn't even post this on your talk page! Help

I cannot think of a better structure for Help:Contents. I think it is not good enough; so could you please give it a look and define better sections and titles? I have a limited understanding of the bot, but I think I can at least start some of those pages. With your expertise, you can direct my efforts to the mostly needed and fundamental parts. IRC Recentchanges Bot

Hi Snowolf;

It would be great to add an IRC Recentchanges bot to this wiki (as well as all the wikimedia foundation wikis have). If you are the developer of this wiki, it won't be much hard; you only need to follow the instructions of mw:Manual:IRC RC Bot. I can help you if you need help (I did it in a local wiki), but it will a great idea to allow users test some of the bots that uses this functionality (such as Python:Diffbot.py).

Flag

Vorrei avere il prima possibile prego un flag temporaneo (2-3 giorni) a steward se possibile per prove tecniche con conseguente sysoppamento e desysop di un utente (solo sysop e desysop, nessuna funzionalità aggiuntiva), l'utente sarà tenuto sotto stretta sorveglianza dal sottoscritto. Questo serve per verificare una problematica riguardo le cancellazioni, per maggiori info... IRC ;). Grazie in anticipo. --Fabexplosive 20:40, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for welcome! I come here just sometimes, I'm very happy about my bot even if I use only two scripts of pywikipedia: read page and write page. I use Python mostly as an interactive tool from Idle prompt, but I'm collecting ideas and some scripts (unusable, since they too are built mainly for being used from prompt; but i love to use my own scripts even if very rough!). Well... anyone find lots of fun into his own tricks, if he/she like programming!

Creating a bot

Hello Snowolf,

I am Euriditi, administrator in Albanian Wikipedia. I don't have any knowledge on creating python scripts except running ready made scripts by Bot team. So I manage a manual pywikipediabot Roboti Tung in Albanian Wikipedia.

This framework is very helpful and I was thinking if bot team could create a script that: copies, translates and pastes the infobox from one Wikipedia to another. This would be extremely helpful for us. Let me explain it. This bot runs automatically to the articles specified for instance in Italian Wikipedia. If one of this articles does not exist in Albanian Wikipedia this bot automatically create a new page for this article copies the corresponding infobox {{Divisione amministrativa}} in Italian article and pastes it to Albanian page as {{Kartela vendbanim}}. I am working on adding a feature to template {{kartela vendbanim}} that auto-generates text from filled parameters.

So, I wanted to ask you a favor to create this bot. Is it possible or I am hoping to much? --Euriditi 12:42, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
